The future of Rotary is in your hands..
Dear Friends of Rotary,

Our club has successfully held fund raising events for the benefit of Camp Quality over the last two years, raising a total in excess of $ 30,000.

Camp Quality is committed to bringing hope and happiness to every child living with cancer, their families and communities, through ongoing quality recreational, educational, financial and hospital support programmes.
This year, our club will be presenting our 3rd Annual Fund Raiser Weekend for Camp Quality, on 26th & 27th September 2009, at the beautiful property “Bronte” in Bullaburra in the World Heritage Listed Blue Mountains.

This year the funds raised by the Rotary Club of Upper Blue Mountains Sunrise will be used to fund a Play Therapist position at Sydney Children’s Hospital. This position has been recently cut back and Camp Quality is keen to see it continue. Oncology Play Therapists educate children and parents in a fun way about the procedures they are about to under go to take away the fear and stress they may have around that situation. They also make ordinary play available to children no matter how incapacitated they may be. Some children are in the ward for months receiving treatment and as play is the natural way for children to learn, it is imperative that they are encouraged to play in every way possible.
Our programme over the weekend consists of two separate days to make this occasion a memorable one.

Saturday 26th September is dedicated to the children and their families, when they travel up to Bullaburra in the Blue Mountains. We then take them by bus to the attractions around Katoomba which include a visit to Scenic World and to see the “Three Sisters” at Echo Point.
We then take them back to Bullaburra for lunch and an afternoon of special entertainment.

Sunday 27th September is purely for fund raising and guests pay for the day spent at the property, where lunch is provided with music, entertainment, silent auctions, raffles and auctions.
The outcome from this weekend provides a wonderful day out for these families and creates better awareness of the work of Camp Quality.

We are inviting you, your company or organisation, to become involved in this worthwhile cause in a number of ways;
  • Sponsor a child to Camp Quality     $650
  • Be a participating Sponsor/Citizen with a cash donation
  • Donate Advertising Space
  • Donate an Item for Auction
  • Donate an Item for the Silent Auction
  • Donate a prize for the Raffle
  • Donate goods for a “Goodies Bag” for the children
  • Donate Tee Shirts for the kids
  • Donate a Signed Tee Shirt for auction
  • Donate Food and/or Wine for the Luncheon
  • Provide “Manpower” on either or both days
  • Provide Entertainment
  • Provide Face Painting and/or Fun Things for Kids
  • Provide Music
  • Book you and your family or group of friends for the Sunday “Day in the Blue Mountains” Luncheon
Any of the above would be gratefully accepted by the club and we look forward to the opportunity of working with you in one or any of these ways.

Or let us know if there is some other way that you can help us make this weekend a great success.

We would be delighted to hear from you.

With kind regards and on behalf of President David Hart,
Derek Russell
Camp Quality Committee Coordinator
